Our Story
Authentic Mexican food, mezcal cocktails and fifteen years on Camden High Street.
A love letter to Mexico, served from Camden
Frida Camden opened its doors in 2011 with a simple dream — to bring the vibrant, bold, unapologetic flavours of Mexico to the heart of Camden. Named after Frida Kahlo, the artist who turned defiance into beauty, our restaurant is a celebration of colour, culture and community on Camden High Street.
Our mission is authenticity. Tortillas hand-pressed every morning, meats slow-braised overnight, salsas fired on the comal — every plate traces its roots to Mexico, from smoky Oaxacan moles to Yucatán pibil. Behind the bar, our cocktail team works with agave spirits from small Mexican distilleries: mezcal, reposado, añejo, and the house margaritas that Camden has been coming back for since day one.
Our vision is simple — a Mexican table big enough for everyone. Whether you are joining us for Sunday brunch, a weeknight taco date, a birthday gathering or our legendary Día de los Muertos night, you are family at Frida’s. Fifteen years in, we still shake every margarita like it is our first.
